Political cooperation with Central Asia
Relations between the two countries are positive and friendly. The official visit in Astana in November 2010 of the former President of the Republic of Slovenia dr. Danilo Türk, accompanied by a numerous government and business delegation, opened new possibilities to deepen the cooperation between the countries. During the visit some important legal acts were signed, which offer new chances for mutual projects and impulse for more dynamical relations. Interstate contacts and political dialogue in 2011 and 2012 were mainly conducted in the framework of multilateral events and on a working level.
The two countries established diplomatic relations on 19 January 1994. The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Moscow is also accredited to Kyrgyzstan.
At the presentation of the Ambassador's credentials in Kyrgyzstan, both sides reaffirmed friendly relations between the countries and expressed mutual interest to deepen bilateral political and economic cooperation and upgrade the legal basis.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Tajikistan were established on 4 April 2002. The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Moscow is also accredited to Tajikistan.
Bilateral cooperation is modest, political dialogue between the countries is conducted mainly on the side-lines of international events and is focused on the cooperation in the framework of international organizations and situation in Central Asia.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 16 January 1995. The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Moscow is also accredited to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In the last two years, good bilateral relations were deepened especially in economic sphere and in the framework of cooperation in international organizations. There is mutual interest to strengthen all-round cooperation and political dialogue. An important contribution to bilateral relations is the opening of the branch of Slovenian non-profit organization Regional dialogue in Uzbekistan. Its activities include international assistance in social and humanitarian area, actions in the field of humanitarian law and human rights, dialogue between nations and cultures.
