Visa fees

The visa fee is charged when the application is submitted. If you withdraw the application or if a visa is refused, the fee will not be reimbursed.


General visa fees:
 
• EUR 35 (in accordance with Visa Facilitation Agreements, citizens of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, BIH, Georgia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, and Ukraine qualify for this lower visa fee.);
• 70 EUR (express visa fee for Russian nationals on the basis of the Agreement between the European Community and the Russian Federation on the facilitation of the issuance of visas to the citizens of the European Union and the Russian Federation)
• EUR 80 other third country nationals above the age of 12 years, EUR 40 other third country nationals aged between 6 and 12 years.

Applicants belonging to one of the following categories are exempt from visa fees:
(a) Children under six years;
(b) School pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers travelling for the purposes of study or educational training;
(c) Researchers  from third countries travelling for the purpose of scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue of uniform short-stay visas of researchers;
(d) Representatives of non-profit organisations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organised by non-profit organisations;
(e) Holders of diplomatic and service passports;
(f) Family members of EU or Swiss citizens covered by Directive 2004/38/EC.

Additionally, citizens of the Russian Federation belonging to following categories are exempt from visa fees on the basis of the Agreement between the European Community and the Russian Federation on the facilitation of the issuance of visas to the citizens of the European Union and the Russian Federation (Official Journal L 129, 17/05/2007 P. 0027 – 0034):
a) Close relatives – spouses, children (including adopted children), parents (or guardians), grandparents and grandchildren – of citizens of the Russian Federation legally residing in the territory of Slovenia;
b) Members of official delegations who, following an official invitation, are to participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations, exchange programmes, or events organised in Slovenia by intergovernmental organisations;
c) Members of national and regional governments and parliaments, constitutional courts, and supreme courts;
d) Pupils, students, post-graduate students, and accompanying teachers undertaking a trip for the purpose of study or educational training;
e) Disabled persons and accompanying persons, if any;
f) Persons who have presented documents proving the necessity of their trip on humanitarian grounds, including to receive urgent medical treatment, and accompanying persons, or to attend a funeral of a close relative, or to visit a seriously ill close relative;
g) Participants in international sports events for youth and accompanying persons;
h) Persons participating in scientific, cultural and artistic activities, including university and other exchange programmes;
i) Participants in official exchange programmes organised by twinned towns.

Additionally, citizens of the Republic of Belarus belonging to following categories are exempt from visa fees on the basis of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Belarus on the facilitation of the issuance of visas:

a) members of national and regional Governments and Parliaments, Constitutional Courts and Supreme Courts;
b) members of official delegations, including permanent members of official delegations, who, following an official invitation participate in official meetings, consultations, negotiations or exchange programmes, as well as in events held in the territory of Slovenia by intergovernmental organisations;
c) for close relatives – spouses, children, parents and persons exercising the parental authority, grandparents and grandchildren of citizens of Belarus legally residing in the territory of Slovenia or citizens of Slovenia legally residing in the territory of Slovenia;
d) persons participating in scientific, academic, cultural and artistic activities, including university and other exchange programmes;
e) pupils, students, post-graduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake trips for the purposes of study or educational training, including in the framework of exchange programmes as well as other school related activities;
f) participants in international sports events and persons accompanying them in a professional capacity;
g) participants in official exchange programmes organised by twin cities and other municipal entities;
h) representatives of civil society organizations when undertaking trips for the purposes of educational training, seminars, conferences, including in the framework of exchange programmes;
i) participants in official EU cross-border cooperation programmes between Belarus and the European Union;
j) persons with disabilities and persons accompanying them, if necessary;
k) persons who have presented documents proving the necessity of their travel on humanitarian grounds, including to receive urgent medical treatment and the person accompanying such person, or to attend a funeral of a close relative, or to visit a seriously ill close relative;
l) children under the age of 12.

SERVICE FEE
An additional service fee of the equivalent of EUR 25.5 in Russian Roubles is charged by external service providers if the visa application is submitted via an external service provider.
