NOTICE IN CONNECTION WITH COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

Visa restriction

The Embassy suspended short-stay and long-stay visas on the basis of restrictions on non-essential travel and in order to prevent recurrences and the spread of COVID-19. Visas shall be issued only in certain cases for purposes deemed necessary by the competent authorities. More about restricting non-essential travel is available at the following links:

In line with the restriction on non-essential travel, the following categories of foreign nationals can currently apply for a long-stay visa:

  • diplomats and administrative and technical staff and their family members coming to Slovenia to perform their mandate,
  • participants in student exchanges (eg Erasmus, Erasmus +, exchanges based on bilateral agreements between universities),
  • close family members of a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia / EU for the purpose of family reunification,
  • businessmen, athletes, cultural figures, researchers and scientists, with an expressed and substantiated national interest, prepared for each specific case by the competent ministry.

Visa applications in these cases can only be submitted directly to the Embassy by prior arrangement. For additional information and possible booking of the application deadline, write to consmoscow.mzz@gov.si

Residence permits

In accordance with the restrictions on consular operations aimed at preventing recurrences and the spread of COVID-19, the Embassy accepts applications for temporary residence permits and performs other procedural actions related to obtaining a residence permit only by prior appointment.

Consular fees can only be paid in cash in Euro.

Amended Visa Code

From 2 February 2020, in line with the amended Visa Code, applicants will be able to apply for a Schengen visa six months before the planned trip. The Slovenian Embassy will also introduce the announced changes to visa fees. 

Starting 2 February 2020, the visa fees will be charged as follows:

Nationals of 11 countries (Russia, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine):

Children up to the age of six years: 0 EUR
Children from the age of six to the age of twelve years: 35 EUR
Adults: 35 EUR

Nationals of other countries (e. g. Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, China):

Children up to the age of six years: 0 EUR
Children from the age of six to the age of twelve years: 40 EUR
Adults: 80 EUR

Please note that in case a visa application is submitted via Slovenia's authorised visa centres (VFS Global), applicants also pay a service fee in the amount 25.5 EUR (charged in RUB).
